Three Cars Went Over This Edge | Day 5 | Capitol Reef, White Rim, and Moab
After four days of canyons, cliffs, and trails that pushed the Bronco to its limits, Day 5 brings our overland journey to a close — and the desert saves a few last surprises for the road out. We break camp one final time on the banks of the Green River, the morning quiet broken only by the sound of the Bronco firing up for one more day of exposed bench-cut roads. The route winds us down Taylor Canyon, where the canyon floor opens up to reveal two of the most striking rock formations in all of Canyonlands — Zeus and Moses, twin sandstone towers rising straight out of the desert floor like monuments left behind by giants. Standing in their shadow is the kind of moment that makes you put the camera down and just look. From there we cross into Canyonlands National Park proper and point the Bronco toward the long climb out: Mineral Bottom Road. The switchbacks here are legendary — a tight, winding ascent carved into the canyon wall with the Green River shrinking smaller and smaller below us. It's the same kind of mining-era road we've been driving all week, and just as exposed. But the most haunting part of the climb isn't the drop-off. It's what's already gone over the edge. Three rusted-out cars lie crumpled in the rocks below the road — frozen mid-tumble, slowly being reclaimed by the desert. We don't know their stories, only that someone, somewhere, had a very bad day on this road. They're a sobering reminder that out here, the margin for error is exactly zero. We close out the video with a full trip recap — the highs, the breakdowns, the views, the camps, and the moments that made this Capitol Reef to Moab overland route one we'll be talking about for years. Watch Day 5 to ride out with us, see Zeus and Moses, climb the Mineral Bottom switchbacks, and look back on the full journey from the start. 📍 PLAN YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: 🗺️ White Rim Trail info & permits: https://www.nps.gov/cany/planyourvisi... 🏜️ Canyonlands National Park: https://www.nps.gov/cany/index.htm Follow The Hub – Overland Adventures for more Bronco trail routes, remote Utah overlanding, canyon country views, and the hidden history that makes these miles worth it. #MineralBottom #Canyonlands #ZeusAndMoses #TaylorCanyon #Moab #FordBronco #Overlanding #BroncoTrails #GreenRiver #UtahAdventure #OffRoadAdventure #TheHubOverland
