Il lavoro sociale di comunità

Webinar with Valentina Calcaterra and Chiara Panciroli. Talking about "Community Social Work" during this time is more timely than ever. Since the start of the Covid-19 health emergency, we have witnessed the suspension and closure of many welfare services, which have been operating at idle speed, having to give themselves time to reorganize their working methods. At the same time, we have witnessed the mobilization of many people in communities who have felt responsible for their neighbors and have sought ways, individually or in a coordinated manner, to support one another. Community Social Work is a specific professional field of social work with a long international tradition, particularly in the fight against social exclusion, poverty, or discrimination based on class, ethnicity, gender, or age. It also finds legitimacy in the actions of our social workers, both within and outside institutional welfare services. Through community social work interventions, professionals guide planning and reciprocity processes, triggering dynamics of relational empowerment and responding to various needs, aspirations, or social challenges. How do we define a community profile? How do we plan community projects and monitor outcomes? How do we document meetings? How do we build a leadership team? We will answer these and many other questions together with: Valentina Calcaterra, social worker, researcher, and professor of Social Work Methodology at the Catholic University of Milan. She has experience as a social worker and service coordinator, and conducts research, training, and consulting in the fields of child protection and relational social work. Chiara Panciroli, social worker, researcher, and professor of Social Work Methodology at the Catholic University of Milan and Brescia. She conducts research and training with the Relational Social Work Research Center and has experience as a community social worker.
