In this video I take the filter apart after two months and see how they look and how easy it is to clean them off. What I found: Point Bond material that Pleatco and Excel use make the cartridge significantly lighter and easier to remove and carry. The Point bond material also allows dirt t evenly coat the filter media making for better overall water flow and allowing the filter to work longer and more importantly more efficiently between filter cleanings. The Reemay material had some areas that were clean and other area that were dirty. The dirt was not evenly spread. It probably is a combination of the filter media and the less flow allowed by the punched PVC. They are also more water logged and heavier. The Results: Pleatco came out on top in this test. It was easy to clean the Pleatco filter as the dirt jut rolled off basically.The Super Bond Bands kept the pleats uniformly spaced, and the filter media looked good as new when I was done. The Excel filter also cleaned up easily but the bands were not as good as Pleatco's. It is a well made cartridge and a worthy challenger to Pleatco. The Unicle and the Filbur were basically the same. A good filter cartridge choice but not the best. They are not a bad products but they are not the best either. If you are going to invest in new filter cartridges I would suggest getting the best ones on the market.
