Learn to play Cuban Music, the Cuban Laud & Punto Guajiro

Learn about the Cuban laud and learn a traditional Punto Guajiro pattern. Punto Guajiro is peasant music from the western part of the island. It was used as party music, much as rumba was in the cities and changüi was in the east. It has different ensemble instrumentation depending on the area and also what was available. This music is almost always played in 6/8 time and there are several stylistic variations, the most common being punto libre and punto fijo. In punto libre, the band stops as the singer sings and the laud plays fills. In punto fijo the band does not stop. This was recorded at the Escuela Nacional de Artes in Havana Cuba, and features the basic pattern and also some improvisation that would be played in punto libre. *************************** Support these videos! *************************** Get the book at: https://e88.me/tres Get Social! *************************** On the Web: https://salsablanca.com/ Facebook: https://fb.me/salsablancamusic Pinterest:   / cuba
