Towards NTD elimination: a spotlight on lymphatic filariasis

The impact of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) on people’s lives can be devastating. People of all ages face pain, disability and stigma which leads to many important days lost from school or work. There are ways to help prevent and treat NTDs, that with the right access for people that need it, can help lead towards elimination of diseases like lymphatic filariasis (LF). Since 2000, GSK has donated 12 billion doses of medicine to help towards the elimination of LF in 19 countries across the world, and control of soil transmitted helminths (STH). At the heart of making an impact on the lives of people with LF and other NTDs, are partnerships, along with the dedication and deep knowledge from healthcare workers and governments in communities most affected. Zanzibar is a country committed to eliminating NTDs and is working together with the global community until NTDs are a thing of the past.
