LICHEN NITIDUS BY DR ABRAHAM#educational #lecture #dermatology #science #dermatologist
Lichen nitidus is a rare, chronic skin condition characterized by tiny, skin-colored, shiny papules that typically appear on the chest, abdomen, forearms, and genital area. These pinhead-sized bumps are usually smooth and discrete, giving the skin a dotted appearance. Lichen nitidus most often affects children and young adults, and its cause remains unclear, though it is believed to be an inflammatory condition with potential autoimmune involvement. The condition is generally asymptomatic, though mild itching can occasionally occur. Lichen nitidus is benign and often resolves on its own without treatment, though topical corticosteroids or phototherapy may be used if symptoms become bothersome.
