It's Friday, May 15, 2026. Welcome to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, a city with approximately 198,300 inhabitants in 2025. The main public transport network in this city is the STIB (Société des transports intercommunaux de Bruxelles) in French, or MIVB (Maatschappij voor het Intercommunaal Vervoer te Brussel) in Dutch. The network operates 4 metro lines (40 km), 18 tram lines (147 km), and 51 bus lines (452 ​​km). Its network covers the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region (161 km²) as well as 11 municipalities in the Brussels periphery.
