Today we will take a walk through the historical center of Frankfurt am Main. We will start our journey on Kaiserstrasse, next to Willy-Brandt-platz, where the Opera House is located, and will move towards Hauptwache via Kaiserplatz, Rossmarktplatz and further along Rossmarktstrasse. On this hot summer day, the temperature reached +35 degrees, so there were noticeably fewer people on the city streets than usual. This allows you to calmly examine the architecture of Frankfurt city center, its modern skyscrapers of the Bahnhofsviertel business district. Along the way, we admire the majestic facades of the buildings, pass by the Gutenberg monument, and observe how historical architecture harmoniously coexists with modern high-rises. Our walk ends at the Hauptwache, near the Frankfurt Main Guard building – one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. In the center is a carefully restored old Hauptwache, surrounded by tons of concrete, glass, dizzying high-rises and modern life in all its manifestations. You can feel the change of generations and sigh about days gone by while sipping a beer at a table in a cafe located in a former prison, then stroll through the shops and dive into the metro located under the square.
