L' Anello dei parchi della Lucania . La Basilicata vista dalla bici.

The ring of the parks of Lucania is a spectacular bike ride entirely within Basilicata. It starts and returns to Maratea after about 800 km and 14,000 meters of total altitude difference. The route crosses the Pollino National Park, which is the largest natural park in Italy and extends between Basilicata and Calabria; the Regional Park of Gallipoli Cognato and Piccole Dolomiti Lucane, known for its spectacular rock formations and the village of Pietrapertosa, the National Park of the Lucanian Apennines Val d'Agri Lagonegrese, and the Murgia Materana Park. The ring winds along almost deserted secondary roads, also because Basilicata is one of the least populated regions of Italy Obviously a visit to Matera with its famous Sassi is unmissable, where I would recommend a whole day dedicated to its visit.
