Ha Bejraya | ܗܐ ܒܓܪܝܐ | ترنيمة أشورية ها بجرايا - Assyrian Good Friday Prayer

The hymn "Ha Bejraya," is an Assyrian prayer for Good Friday/Friday of Sorrows. The Assyrian lyrics take us through the Agony in Gethsemane and the betrayal of Judas Iscariot English translation (freely translated from Assyrian) Behold, the blood of our Lord is flowing; Let us mingle it with the tears of our eyes. O Christians, come and gather near, Listen to the story of His Passion. For it is solely for our sins and transgressions, That our Savior endures such agony. Let us immerse our souls in His suffering; And grieve deeply for His sake. In a secluded garden, all alone, The Blessed One bows in prayer: "My beloved Father, if it be Your will, Let this cup pass from Me. Yet, Father, let Your will be done, According to what pleases You." With His face fallen to the earth, His sweat was mingled with His tears. Judas arrived with a gathered mob, Approaching under the guise of friendship. With deceitful schemes, he embraced and kissed Him, Delivering Him into the hands of His enemies. Judas, the traitor and the sinner, Corrupted by his desire to betray.
