Allroad Reisemobile from Chemnitz has previously rented out 4x4 campers, but now owner Mario Beier has decided to try his hand at creating his own model. Brimming with experience from the rental business, with the knowledge of what works and what doesn't, what's in demand and what isn't. A man of action, he initially set up ten base vehicles in his yard to avoid running out of materials. Beier took no prisoners when configuring the vans: a seven-speed automatic transmission, a large 190 hp V6 diesel, a low-range gearbox, and a full range of comfort features in the cab bring the purchase price of the bare van (wheelbase: 3.66 meters) to €86,000. Good things come at a price, let's just say that right away. But that's not all: The interior of the Atacama 4x4s is also supposed to offer something rare in this size class: sleeping and seating space for a family of four, combined with durable quality that can withstand even longer drives on dirt roads and off-road sections. What goes right overboard in this context is the 3.5-ton mark. While it's already almost impossible to achieve with mass-produced lightweight construction techniques, it will be completely impossible given Beier's plans.
