Guided Coding instead of Vibe Coding in Java with Kenny Pflug

In this live session we focus on a structured approach to AI assisted development: Guided Coding in Java with Kenny Pflug (‪@KennyPflug‬) Guided Coding was developed independently, in parallel to concepts like vise coding described by David Farago. While the ideas are related in spirit, this session is specifically about Kenny Pflug’s own framework and how to apply it rigorously in practice. The stream is centered on explanation, methodology, and disciplined execution. Kenny will guide me step by step through: The principles behind Guided Coding How to separate planning from implementation How to define constraints before letting the AI write code How to review AI output with architectural intent How to refactor systematically instead of reactively How to maintain long term code quality while using AI heavily We will use: - ‪@GitHub‬ Copilot plugin Visual Studio Code (‪@code‬) A focused Java example application This is not about generating as much code as possible. It is about controlling the process. We will explore: What Guided Coding really means in day to day Java development Where AI should be constrained and where it can operate freely How to prevent architectural drift How to turn AI into a disciplined implementation engine What excellence in AI collaboration actually looks like If you care about software craftsmanship, architectural clarity, and deliberate AI usage in professional Java projects, this session will give you a concrete and reproducible framework.
