Veteran entertainer Pai Ping-ping recently returned to Taiwan from a trip to Vietnam and received the good news of being nominated for Best Taiwanese Female Singer at the Golden Melody Awards. The public is curious about the level of her red carpet attire and whether she will bring her "elders" to meet guests. Pai Ping-ping stated that she will opt for a dignified look. However, she recently took advantage of her trip to Vietnam to let loose, wearing a bikini for photos on a cruise ship. Although Pai Ping-ping is 71 years old, she remains energetic, either bringing joy to her audience through work or traveling. Ten years ago, she planned to travel to challenging destinations she wanted to visit before she died, including Antarctica, the Arctic, Machu Picchu in Peru, Tibet, and remote parts of Africa, Europe, and the Americas, while she was still young and energetic. Now that she is older and doesn't want to be too strenuous, she has begun exploring Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and various parts of China with fewer days available. One night during her trip, she stayed on a cruise ship in Ha Long Bay. On a whim, Pai Ping-ping spent two million Vietnamese dong (approximately NT$2400) on a bikini and took photos with her roommate on the balcony. However, she joked that such a revealing outfit was a Vietnamese exclusive and she probably wouldn't see it on the Golden Melody Awards red carpet. To look her best for the red carpet, she lost 2 kilograms that week, but her weight is still in the 50s (Central Vietnamese Dong). She admitted, "Photos can be edited, but not for the red carpet. I'm short; 50s is too heavy." This also made her nostalgic for her younger days when she weighed only 43 kilograms. The most painful part of the trip for Pai Ping-ping was currency exchange. She was carrying millions of Vietnamese dong in her bag at all times. A trip to the toilet cost 3000 dong, and she was often seen outside the toilet shouting, "Anyone need to use the toilet? I'll treat everyone!" Everyone jokingly called her "Big Shot Pai." For Pai Ping-ping, enjoying a happy trip with friends and seeing beautiful scenery is one of her secrets to staying young. Pai Ping-ping frequently shares her travelogues on her YouTube channel, "Sincere Encounters," attracting numerous travel agencies seeking collaborations. This recent trip to Sapa, Vietnam, was actually a tour organized by her friend, police officer and singer Lin Hong-ming, through Aoduo Travel Agency. Pai Ping-ping also brought along friends, including two singing instructors—the renowned Yang Hui-jie and Dai Jing-fang. The six-day trip was filled with joy and laughter! While this Vietnam trip was full of laughter and wonderful memories, the sudden passing of FTV actor Fu Tzu-chun these past two days has plunged Pai Ping-ping into despair. Deeply affected, she immediately sent her condolences to Fu Tzu-chun's wife, who is also a fellow travel enthusiast and has traveled with him to Japan and Singapore. Facing this sudden loss, Pai Ping-ping poignantly reminded everyone to see a doctor immediately if they feel unwell and never neglect their health.
