How to optimise your Amazon product listing in 2026 to get ranked #1 on Amazon. In this Amazon SEO guide, I will explain why your Amazon ranking strategy needs to evolve if you want to achieve top organic ranking positions for your Amazon FBA private label products. Although many customers have yet to fully adopt the Ask Rufus Amazon AI agent, COSMO is already being utilised through the algorithm, so Amazon sellers need to be aware of how it works. While Amazon keyword research should still be the core of your Amazon listing optimisation, AI optimisation is essential to future proof your product listing. Just over 2 years ago, Amazon Rufus AI launched alongside the Amazon COSMO algorithm. Amazon's goal with Rufus and COSMO is to use artificial intelligence to increase sales Previously, the Amazon A9 algorithm had driven Amazon search results pages (SERPs) for over a decade. It has evolved a lot since it's original conception and is sometimes referred to it as the Amazon A10 algorithm. Some Amazon sellers believe that Rufus and COSMO have replaced the A9 algorithm and that traditional Amazon keyword research optimisation is dead. The truth is, Rufus AI and COSMO AI work alongside Amazon's A9 algorithm to provide the best possible search results to the customer. Although the A9 algorithm is keyword focused and prioritises products containing text that matches the customer's search query (providing the product has suitable sales metrics such as CTV, CVR and sales velocity for that particular search term), it still has its place alongside Rufus and COSMO. Rufus and COSMO differ in that they focus on intent matching, rather than keyword matching. So whereas A9 would return products matching the customer's search terms, Rufus and COSMO will return products that best match the customer's intent (or need). If you are considering starting Amazon FBA UK in 2026, I highly recommend watching this video. Amazon private label is more competitive than ever, so if you want to make money selling on Amazon you need to understand how Amazon's search algorithm works so you can get ahead of the competition.
