It was founded in 1953 as the 8th training unit of the Red Banner Pacific Fleet. On the territory there are still buildings of tsarist construction. Specialties of radioteleography, radiometry and hydrography were trained here. In 2002 the school was disbanded and transferred to the State Maritime University named after Nevelskiy. It was taken under the protection of looters. To date, some of the buildings are in disrepair and partially destroyed. Most buildings are nailed and closed.
