Saint John the Baptist occupies a unique position in salvation history. Even before his birth, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and recognized the presence of Jesus in the womb of Mary. With a courageous voice, he called people to repentance and baptized them in the Jordan River. As the last great prophet of the Old Testament, he prepared the way for the Messiah, baptizing Jesus and pointing to Him with the words: “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” In this video, Father Francis introduces us to this saint in more detail.
