This video demonstrates the process of inspecting and preparing the cylinders and pistons in a 96 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam engine. We show you step-by-step how to properly measure the pistons, check the cylinder running clearance, and hone the cylinder surface. The video covers: techniques for measuring the piston diameter and cylinder bore using a micrometer and dial gauge, determining the piston-to-cylinder clearance using the S&S Big Bore 110" and Harley-Davidson 103" cylinders as examples, the cylinder honing process and selecting the correct cross-bore angle, measuring the piston ring gap.
