Malcolm and the Mirrors - Paint Your Windows White (1979|1982)

"Paint Your Windows White" was originally a 1979 A-side by Malcolm Wild and the Band 'Samuel,' a precursor act to Malcolm and the Mirrors. Released on the Costa Mesa Christian rock label Ministry Resource Records, the picture sleeve on the earlier release features an illustration of a person instantly skeletonized by a nuclear blast despite heeding then-current " Protect and Survive" protocols to "paint your windows white." This version of "Paint Your Windows White" is taken from the 1982 LP "Red Alert," which opts for video game aesthetics to make a similar point. [Excerpt] "Paint your windows white, they say it will make it all go away You don't have to understand, just bury your head in the sand"
