The Cliffs at Steep Rock, Manitoba (and Quarry)

Droning over the Cliffs at Steep Rock, Manitoba, CANADA, and the adjacent limestone quarry. Steep Rock is located about 235 km northwest of Winnipeg. As one of the most photographed locations in Manitoba, the Cliffs of Steep Rock are made of limestone and over thousands of years wave action has molded them into sheer drops, caves and other unusual geological formations. Located within 0.5 mile of the Steep Rock shoreline, is an old limestone quarry also shown in the video, which operated from 1913 to 1992. High-calcium limestone for the production of Portland cement was quarried by the Canada Cement Company at this site and shipped to its production plant in Winnipeg.
