La bataille d'images de l'élection de 1970. Quand Bourassa et Lévesque s'affrontaient par caméras...

The first major battle of image between these two political figures during the April 29, 1970 election. Who proved the more strategic? Robert Bourassa and René Lévesque are political leaders whose paths are inextricably linked. They faced off three times in election campaigns. Professor Alain Lavigne, from the Department of Information and Communication at Université Laval, will discuss the first major battle of image between these two figures, namely the April 29, 1970 election. While Bourassa wholeheartedly embraced the strategies and techniques of political marketing, you will discover that Lévesque resisted them as best he could! Alain Lavigne has a multidisciplinary background in history, communication, and political science. A professor in the Department of Information and Communication at Université Laval, he is the author of three essays on the history of electoral communication in Quebec. This conference was recorded at the Maison de la littérature in Quebec City and edited as part of a partnership with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Laval University.
