BONE, Friday, July 3, 2026 – The search operation for a drowning victim in Bulu Tobea Hamlet, Mattiro Deceng Village, Libureng District, Bone Regency, has yielded results. The Joint SAR Team from the C Pioneer Battalion of the Mobile Brigade Corps of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, along with other SAR units, successfully located the victim at around 2:55 p.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time). The victim was identified as Nawir, 60, a farmer from Mallinrung Village, Libureng District, Bone Regency. Since morning, the Joint SAR Team had been moving to the scene and preparing equipment before beginning a search using rubber boats along the river. A thorough search was conducted, combing the areas suspected to be where the victim had been swept away. Thanks to the coordination and cooperation of all involved, the victim was finally found approximately 300 meters from the initial location where he was presumed dead. After being found, the victim's body was immediately evacuated to the funeral home to be handed over to his family. The evacuation process proceeded safely and smoothly with the support of all personnel from the Joint Search and Rescue Team and the local community.
