Women in Geoprofessions: Real Talk on Leadership, Mentorship & Career Growth
What does it take to build a stronger, more connected geoprofessional industry? In this special GBA Podcast episode, members of the GBA Geoprofessional Women’s Group (GWG) come together for a candid panel discussion on mentorship, leadership, career pivots, and the realities of navigating a geoprofessional career. Panelists share personal experiences—from overcoming imposter syndrome to balancing career growth with major life transitions—and highlight the power of peer networks, cross-firm collaboration, and honest conversation. A recurring theme: no one should have to navigate this profession alone. The GWG was formed to address ongoing challenges in the industry, including isolation, retention, and leadership development for women, while creating a space for connection, learning, and growth.
