Answer: No and Yes, depends Reason: Avoid putting wet hands into the jar. Use a wooden spoon. Once water is introduced to the product, it is contaminated and will grow bacteria, mold, etc. If you can avoid water getting in to the product, then you are safe and do not need a preservative. This Whipped Mango butter will last as long as the shelf life of your ingredients.
