The metal withstands wind very well 3. Leaks don’t happen 4. They’re energy-efficient Conversely, there are a few things to consider with the metal roofs: 1. They’re more expensive, especially up front because of all the labor costs associated with installing a metal roof 2. Some neighborhoods don’t allow metal roofs because they mess with the city or county codes. This is especially true in historic neighborhoods. 3. The metal can be noisy, especially during rainstorms or if particles fall onto the roof. Oh, and don’t forget those pesky squirrels that run around and make all that noise! 4.
