Ho'okena 2

Two more songs by Ho'okena. First is a beautiful song composed by Louis "Moon" Kauakahi in honor of Hawaiians who've left Hawaii to make homes on the Mainland but have never forgotten their Island roots. The song is called "Wakinekona." The final piece by Ho'okena is "Nohea I Mu'olaulani." Queen Lili'uokalani composed this song in 1885 to celebrate her new home in Kapalama, which later became the Lili'uokalani Children's Center. Joining Ho'okena is Nani Dudoit and violinist Kaipo Dudoit. If you've enjoyed the music of Ho'okena and would like to hear more, check out their newest CD, called "Huliau," meaning "A turning point."
