AKP Deky was questioned by Bareskrim regarding money laundering (TPPU) related to a narcotics network. Previously, AKP Deky's involvement in a drug trafficking case in West Kutai was revealed after a drug dealer named Ishak was arrested. Deky was suspected of being Ishak's backer or protector in distributing drugs. Bareskrim then arrested Ishak's future wife, Mery Christine, and Marselus Vernandus, who was the liaison between AKP Deky and Ishak. The Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated on Sunday (May 17, 2026) that Marselus admitted to receiving a voice message from AKP Deky asking him to secure Ishak's business. In the communication, AKP Deky requested the assistance of Ishak's network in luring a dealer named Fathur into selling more than one kilogram of methamphetamine. The plan was for the methamphetamine to be used as material for an end-of-year exposé. Deky also promised to guarantee the security of Ishak's network operating in the West Kutai region. According to the investigation, AKP Deky met with Ishak, Mery, and Marselus at his home around October or November 2025. During that time, AKP Deky received Rp 5 million in cash. Not only that, a month later, AKP Deky again requested money, this time a larger sum of Rp 50 million, claiming it was for a handover. At the end of the year, Deky again requested Rp 15 million through Marselus. As a result of his actions, AKP Deky was dismissed in a code of ethics hearing held at the East Kalimantan Regional Police on Monday (May 18, 2026).
