It was built as a tribute to their late father, Vali Issa. ​Design: Designed by prominent British-Iraqi architect Atba Al-Samarraie, the architecture blends classic Middle Eastern and North African elements with local British materials. ​Capacity & Features: The main prayer hall accommodates over 1,000 worshippers. It features dedicated spaces for men and women, an adjacent community centre, and holds the distinction of having the first mosque-based crèche and children's play area in Lancashire.
