"Mr Bongo" Jack Costanzo Promo; Directed by Nelson Datu Anderson

Born September 24, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois, Jack "Mr Bongo" Costanzo was attracted to Latin rhythms at an early age. His weapon of choice since then has been the bongos and, later on, the congas. An amazing fact "Mr Bongo" life is that he is self-thought in the art of playing afro-cuban percussion. As he said, nobody was willing to teach this young man of Italian descent how to play the bongos, which at times frustrated him. He learned by himself and, despite this, he was able to perform and/or record with Lecuona Cuban Boys, Nat King Cole, René Touzet, Perez Prado, Stan Kenton, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Xavier Cugat, Peggy Lee, Frances Faye, The Supremes, Ann Miller, Henry Mancini, Buddy Cole, and many, many others.
