Adopting Low-Carbon Concrete Specifications: Two Industry Case Studies

Researchers at UTS have developed and recommended low-carbon concrete specifications for procurement. These specifications take into account design life, constructability and supply chain availability, making them practical for adoption across the country. In this session on July 14, 2026, chair Arun Arunothayan chatted with Alberto Jimenez Tobia (NSW DCCEEW) and Vute Sirivivatnanon (UTS) about the specifications developed in their research collaboration. We also spotlighted industry case studies from Farzad Moghaddam (Sydney Water) and Andrew Durant (Laing O’Rourke) about how they used low carbon concrete specs in recent projects.
