We are in Baranovichi, an intermediate city between Minsk and Brest. I have chosen it at random, without knowing anything about it, before making a stopover here. The interior of Belarus is characterized by its natural beauty, diverse landscapes, and a mix of rural and urban areas. Belarus has vast areas of forests, lakes and rivers. Approximately 40% of the country's territory is covered by forests, making it one of the most forested countries in Europe. The interior of Belarus is dotted with villages and rural areas that reflect traditional Belarusian life. These communities are often made up of quaint frame houses, farms, and agricultural landscapes. You can find farms dedicated to the production of dairy products, poultry and handicrafts. The interior of Belarus has several regional cities that offer their own history and charm. For example, Brest, Grodno, Vitebsk Gomel and Baranovichi, where we meet. These cities offer a quiet escape from urban life, with a connection to nature, charming rural surroundings and rich cultural heritage. They are the ideal nodes for those who wish to explore the natural beauty and authenticity of Belarus. Baranovichi is located in the west of Belarus, in a transition zone between the forested regions of the east and the agricultural fields of the west of the country. It has a population of around 170,000 and is an important industrial and economic center in the region. Baranovichi features a variety of architectural styles, from historic buildings to more modern structures. The Church of San Nicolás, built in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style, is one of the most outstanding monuments in the city. The city has educational institutions, including high schools and universities. There are also theaters, museums, and libraries that promote culture and the arts in the community. Baranovichi is a major transportation hub in the western region of Belarus. The city has a train station that connects it with other cities in Belarus and Moscow and Saint Petersburg in Russia, directly. But the important thing for us is to feel that interior air that cannot be appreciated in the capitals.
