Rains washed away the track so we made our own.

What started as a simple plan — a scenic drive through Eldee Station’s backcountry — turned into something entirely different. We’d driven these tracks about seven years ago and remembered them fondly. But this time, after the recent rains, the country had changed. The old routes were gone — washed away and reclaimed by the land. What began as a cruisy run quickly became a mission: to find the lost tracks of Eldee. Along the way, we stumbled across forgotten ruins, deep boggings, punctured sidewalls, and even a bit of panel damage for good measure. It turned into one of the most challenging — and easily the most fun — days of the entire Outback Odyssey. 📍 Location: Eldee Station, NSW Outback 🕓 Trip Type: Off-road adventure, real-world 4WD recovery 🚙 Vehicles: Isuzu D-MAX + Crew rigs Aussie 4WD adventure gone sideways.
