Day 42 of 62:The day my kid ended up in hospital....

Day 42 of 62: Rabanal del Camino to El Acebo de San Miguel. Today was an emotional day overall. The morning was dedicated to the Cruz de Ferro, where pilgrim tradionally leave a stone representing the things that want to leave behind or let go of in life. All of our family had a stone that we put down at the Cross. The descent proved significantly more dangerous though as our eldest child gave most of his water to his twin younger brothers, and in the process ended up with him having heat stroke and needing to go to the hospital in Ponferrada. Travel insurance is a MUST if you have kids....it should be a must on every single overseas trip you take. He was in the hosptial for about 4 hours being treated for heat stroke with specfic instructions for him to rest the next day. The staff at our hostel made every accomodation that they could, ensuring that as a family, nobody else was assigned to our dormitory room and that our meals were all catered for. #camino #caminofrancés #walking #family #pilgrim #heatstroke #capcut
