On Wednesday President Trump said the US-Iran ceasefire is over. Is he spoiling for war? Or has Iran overplayed its hand? And where does that leave the hope of a more lasting peace? Is it dashed? Or can it be salvaged? Finally, how much of the problem arises out of the fact Trump wants to be seen as the winner, when he is not, and Iran wants to ensure its claims over the Strait of Hormuz are recognized, which is difficult for others to accept?
