Brandenburg an der Havel Teil 1- Die Wiege der Mark Brandenburg ist der Dom

Brandenburg an der Havel is often called the cradle of Brandenburg, as the history of the Margraviate of Brandenburg originated here in the 10th century. The city was the seat of the Slavic Hevelli tribe and later became an important center for Christianization and the formation of power in the region. In 1157, Albert the Bear conquered Brandenburg Castle, thus establishing the Margraviate of Brandenburg – the core of the later Prussian state. The well-preserved old town, medieval churches, and the historic cathedral chapter still bear witness to this significant past. In Part 2, we will also visit the church where Loriot was baptized. We will explore the story behind the "forest pugs" exhibited in the city. We will admire more Brick Gothic buildings and immerse ourselves in the charm of this unique waterfront city. Let yourself be surprised. 00:00 Introduction 00:55 History of the Slavs 01:58 Cathedral History 02:50 Albrecht the Bear 03:30 Cathedral Exterior View 04:32 Cathedral Interior View 06:23 Cathedral Museum https://www.dom-brandenburg.de/ https://www.stadt-brandenburg.de/
