Breakneck and Murder Railway

During the 19th century the rapid industrialisation of the South Wales valleys transformed the landscape, driving the creation of an extensive railway network. One remarkable stretch was the Brecon & Merthyr Junction Railway between Merthyr and Brecon, home to both the highest tunnel and the highest station on the UK’s standard-gauge railway network. In this video I explored Torpantau Tunnel / Station, Pontsarn Viaduct and Morlais Tunnel.
