So wirkt Koffein tatsächlich | Quarks

Coffee and the caffeine it contains are considered a wake-up call, whether for breakfast, to combat the midday slump, or to stay alert while driving. But how much does caffeine actually improve mental performance? Quarks tested it. Our coffee experiment starts in the middle of the night. To reliably test the effects of caffeine, our guinea pigs must be tired. After only three hours of sleep, we wake Sarah and Maxim. They are told not to get too comfortable until midday when we measure how much caffeine improves their mental performance. We regularly measure their mental performance without the influence of caffeine with reaction tests. The two have had to abstain from coffee for the entire past week, because caffeine can only have its full effect if the body isn't used to it. Then Sarah and Maxim finally get their caffeine, and we show how it works and how their performance has changed. Author: Ulrich Grünewald --- Thanks for watching! Did you like the video?
