Yakuza 3 Should Have Been The Best Yakuza Game...
Yakuza 3 was a game with a lot riding on it. Not only was it going to finally give fans the continuation of Kazuma Kiryu’s story that they had been waiting years for, but it was also going to be the first game in the series released on the PlayStation 3 for most fans around the world, as Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan was never released outside of Japan. So fans all over the world had super high expectations for Yakuza 3, and were itching for it to finally release. But as I’m sure a lot of you guys probably already know, Yakuza 3 is a title that’s generally seen as one of the weaker entries in the series by a lot of fans. Not a game that’s necessarily seen as bad, as most people are pretty much in agreement that even the worst Yakuza games are still good video games, but it’s generally seen as one of the least interesting or memorable by many. So over these last couple weeks, I’ve sat down and played through the whole thing for the first time, and I certainly have some thoughts to share after having just finished the game. So join me as we take a look back on what could’ve been the best Yakuza game.
