Hyundai Getz No Start

This Hyundai Getz had several problems, one of which may have not been the actual problem. Intermittent faults are the worst! I could only get this fault to show itself once. That makes a difficult diagnosis to follow. So what was the actual fault? What path did I follow to arrive at a repair? Did I get sidetracked or just follow the data?
