In markup calculation, the list selling price of a product is ultimately calculated. After calculating all incurred costs, profit margins, discounts, and rebates, a price can be determined that covers all costs incurred, including direct costs and overhead. After calculating the manufacturing costs, including the overhead rates, the administrative and sales costs are added to determine the cost price.
