Hello. In today's video, I'll be sharing how I insulated my foundation walls. At the end of the video, I'll show you the difference between painting with dispersion bitumen and bituminous mastic. Since the walls are on felt and coated with a heavy bituminous mastic both inside and out, I decided to skip painting the sides of the foundation footings. Why? Because the footings contain a grounding electrode, which means they need to have as much opportunity to discharge an electrical charge into the ground as possible. Painting the sides would automatically reduce the conductive surface area. In the next video, I'll share how many buckets of bituminous mastic were used for the entire house and finish up with the topic of pipework from the tank to the building.
