Kurz-Doku: "Paradies auf Zeit" – Wie aus Haren Maczków wurde

Haren lies in northwestern Germany on the Ems River and became a center of Polish life in Germany after the end of World War II. Initially renamed Lwów, the town later became Maczków. During this time, a Polish administration and school system were established. A vibrant social and cultural life also flourished. Thousands of Poles lived here, some only temporarily, but many staying for extended periods. They rejoiced in their regained freedom, grappled with the adverse circumstances of the postwar era, and pondered their future. This "Polish occupation zone in Germany," to which Haren-Maczków belonged, continues to attract interest today.
