The Ghost of Future Past, WG Sebald and the Trauma of Modernity - Will Self (20 Dec 2022)

The writer WG Sebald died in 2002 in a car crash outside Norwich, where he taught at the University of East Anglia. He left four novels and was seen as a future Nobel laureate. His death was a great loss to literature and Will Self has been untiring in his support for his legacy. He often wandered in the area around Whitechapel before and after his train journeys from Liverpool Street Station to his home in East Anglia and perhaps came across St George's German Lutheran Church in his travels.
