This is because my older sister is deaf and when I came into the world, Brazilian Sign Language was already part of our lives. Therefore, Libras is my first language. I officially started my career as a Libras interpreter at 18 years old. Therefore, I have been working as an interpreter for over 20 years, but Sign Language has been in my life since I was born, 38 years ago. Today I have a degree in psychology, a master's degree and a doctorate in communication and language, and I am certified to work as an interpreter and also as a Sign Language teacher.
