L'Histoire du Neo Metal Français #03 : 2000 (Enhancer - "Et Le Monde Sera Meilleur")

In the late 1990s, the French nu-metal scene was still in its infancy. Pleymo was starting to make a name for itself, AqME was forging its identity, and in the shadows, a collective of young bands was developing under the banner of Nowhere. Among them was a noisy, unpredictable, and unclassifiable outsider: Enhancer. In this third episode of my History of French Nu-Metal, I invite you to revisit the band's origins, as well as the genesis of "Et le monde sera meilleur" (And the World Will Be Better), a debut album that became a cult classic for an entire generation. From their beginnings in the Val-d'Oise region, to the hundreds of concerts they played even before releasing an album, including their homemade demos, early press coverage, and the recording of this groundbreaking album, the incredible journey of Enhancer tells the story of a scene in its formative stages. A time when everything still seemed possible, when the boundaries between rap, punk, hardcore, and metal were shattered, and when a few inventive and creative groups would permanently reshape the landscape of extreme music in France.
