Sarion let her cloak ride the dawn wind and drew a breath of the cold morning air. On the far horizon the sun had just risen, and the first ray raced across the valley, turning the low-lying mist to gold and rose. Below her, gentle green hills rolled away ridge after ridge, fading into hazy blue mountains — the world was so vast. A silver river wound slowly through the valley floor, and when she followed it with her eyes, far in the distance, half-hidden in the morning mist, stood a pale-spired castle. Who built it, and what waits there? Its faintly glowing shape tugged at her heart — I want to go. The river seemed to point the way, as if to say, come. Sarion reached one hand toward the distant castle on the horizon. Already, in her mind, she walked the road she had not yet set foot on. No need to hurry — but the world was surely waiting. She pressed her foot to the rock and took the first slow step. The journey begins here. Here, time flows gently.
