Direct sowing - parsnips, carrots, Hamburg parsley, dill, and turnips
In this video I prepare the ground and make direct sowings of parsnips, carrots, Hamburg parsley, dill, and turnips. The parsnips and parsley are station sown at a spacing of 5.5" (14cm) apart in rows 10" (25cm) apart. The carrots, dill, and turnips are sown in shallow drills, also 10" (25cm) apart. From mid to late May I will sow our main crop carrots in the remaining space in a similar manner. Varieties: Parsnip - Demi Long de Guernsey, Hollow Crown, Tender & True Carrot - Chantenay Turnip - Orange Jelly (syn. Golden Ball)
