We praise zoos that are proactive about animal welfare and environmental enrichment, and strongly criticize those that are passive about animal welfare and environmental enrichment, and demand that animal welfare be implemented. *Environmental enrichment is a measure to reduce their mental and physical stress and have them live a happy life from the standpoint of an ape, not from a human convenience or emotion.
