Ana Cuenca, 30 años: «La enfermedad me ha enseñado que si tienes al Señor, lo tienes todo»
Catholic Way.- Ana Cuenca, 30, belongs to a community of the Neocatechumenal Way in the parish of San Jerónimo in Valencia. Ana gave her first testimony about suffering at the Diocesan Vigil of Our Lady of the Forsaken, held at the Valencia bullring on Saturday, April 29, 2023, before 12,000 people. In it, she recounts how until she was 16, she led a completely normal life, but then illness shattered all her plans: studies, marriage, motherhood… Therefore, at first, she struggled with the Lord, but the Virgin Mary “interceded at specific moments like a mother.” Ana also acknowledges that “without prayer I can do nothing.” And illness has taught her that “life can be complicated, but if you have the Lord, you have everything.” In fact, she acknowledges that she now has “peace and the certainty that the Lord cares for me and loves me.” “I feel tremendously loved by the Lord and those around me,” although she acknowledged that “it's humiliating to have to do everything.” Her testimony was interrupted by applause when she stated that “you can have everything, but if you don't have the Lord, life is empty.” Ana also recounts, with constant touches of humor, how she had reached an agreement with the Lord that she would never refuse to speak about Him “because you do everything well.” And she stated that this was the reason she could not refuse to offer her testimony at the vigil before so many people. “I am nobody, but in my smallness, the Lord has chosen me to bring His love to others and for them to see that one can be happy in the midst of suffering,” she declares. She also emphasizes that in her life she has seen that “the Virgin is my mother, and where my fleshly parents cannot reach, She is.” Ana concludes her testimony by addressing young people and inviting them “not to be afraid, to open the doors to the Lord because He will never disappoint you,” but, on the contrary, “He will surprise you.” https://www.youtube.com/@realbasilica... https://caminocatolico.com/ @CaminoCatólico
