The Karakoç family, who have never given up searching for the children, continue their quest through Erdal, the son of the father, İsmail Karakoç, after his death. Two human rights lawyers, Ayşe Bingöl Demir and Saniye Karakaş, have also been part of the family's search for years. The petition that father İsmail Karakoç wrote to Marshal Fevzi Çakmak in 1941, and the four breaches the family has managed to create in the wall of impunity over the past 88 years, contain clues that question the widespread narrative of adoption regarding what happened to the girls from Dersim. We understand that countless children were separated from their families through a protection scheme without legal basis, trapped in a cycle of exploitation, and that, as indicated by the official response from Fevzi Çakmak, there are significant records of the Tertele massacre in state archives. The story takes on the mystery of a Hollywood film with the Gülşen family and Gülter Hanım, believed to be Sakine, who contacted the family in 2024.
