From the heart of the Smokies to the highest roads in the country! 🏔️🏁 We kick off this month’s episode in downtown Robbinsville at the newly revived Graham Hotel, checking out how this historic local accommodation has been beautifully brought back to life. From there, we point the wheels north on Hwy 129, cruising past the scenic Santeetlah Lodge as we head toward our home turf: the Tail of the Dragon. We catch you up on what's been happening around the Dragon community lately, but the real story of the month is our massive road trip west. In our last episode, we were packing up for Colorado and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb—and we decided to do the entire long-haul journey in the Mercedes AMG GTS. We break down what it's really like to road-trip a supercar across the country, carving through some of the most scenic and iconic paved roads in America. A last-minute audible even took us all the way up to Mount Blue Sky—the highest paved road in the United States! But the mountain keeps us grounded. When tragedy strikes on and around the Dragon, it reminds us that not all accidents are avoidable. Lori opens up and shares some first-hand experience and the reality of riding and driving these roads. Finally, we’re taking you behind the scenes of America's Mountain. We spent the week documenting the intense journey of Ryan Cheek Racing at Pikes Peak, capturing the extreme emotional highs and heart-wrenching lows that come with trying to conquer the Race to the Clouds.
